It's been four days since India lost the World Test Championship (WTC) title to Australia but the team is yet to recover from the drubbing they recieved at the Oval, which denied them yet another ICC trophy.
Even the likes of batting maestros Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Cheteshwar Pujara couldn't save India from going down to Pat Cummins' brigade by 209 runs. Including Kohli, India's star studded batters were heavily lambasted for their poor shot selections which actually scripted India's fiasco at the bigger stage. Right after the conclusion of the match, Kohli posted a philosophical story on the social media which he is known for. Four days after WTC final jolt, Kohli posted yet another cryptic Instagram story on Thursday (June 15). Kohli's latest story quoted by Alan Watts talks about change.
"The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance," Kohli's Instagram story read.
Kohli failed to make an impact with the bat in WTC final match against Australia. In the first innings Kohli crashed out to 14 off 31, while in the second innings he did showed some intent with impressive 49 but couldn't save India from going down to Australia.
After India's lacklustre show in the WTC final, the debate around Kohli stepping down from India's Test captaincy once again stirred up when former BCCI president Sourav Ganguly opened up on the saga between him and the India's batting juggernaut. Ganguly had said that he doesn't even know why Kohli decided to take that step.
"No (on the board's preparedness on Kohli giving up Test captaincy). Not after the South Africa series. I don't know (why he did so), only he can tell. After Virat left, Rohit Sharma was the best option available at that time," Ganguly had told Aaj Tak.
"Kohli was a very good captain, India did really well under Kohli & Shastri, India played with a fearless attitude and showed guts in England & Australia. If they had played the Manchester Test at that time, they would've won the series in England as well," Ganguly had concluded.
Meanwhile, Team India is next slated to travel to Caribbean for the multi-format tour in July and August. India and West Indies will play two-Test series which will be followed by three ODIs. They will also play a five-match T20I series from August 3 to August 13.
