WI vs IND, Day 5 Weather Report: Rain threatens to reign on India's parade as 80% chances of precipitation in Trinidad on Monday

The last day of the ongoing second Test match between India and West Indies in Trinidad is likely to be affected by rain. Even on Day 4, the rain gods ate down on Indian batters' time in the middle as persistent showers forced Indian skipper Rohit Sharma to declare the innings in order to register an outright victory. Well, the visitors are perfectly placed to come out with a positive result but their chances of a victory can be washed out by rain or a defiant display by Windies' batters, the first reason being the most likelier one.

The weather forecast for July 24 (Monday) in Trinidad paints a grim picture as there is an 80% chance of precipitation in the afternoon. For a significant part of this Test, the weather has been gloomy while the rain has even impeded play. If the sky doesn't open up on Monday in Trinidad then the Test match could be headed towards an interesting finish.

India will have three sessions to bag eight remaining wickets while the hosts would hope for a miracle and look to score 289 more runs to win the game. Hence, one would hope that skies in Trinidad remain free from fark clouds and bright sunshine greets players on Monday.

India secured the driver's seat after skipper Rohit Sharma and wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan smacked record half-centuries on Day 4. Mohammed Siraj's five-wicket haul shot down the hosts for just 255 runs in the first innings, enabling the visitors to pocket a massive lead. India batters came out all guns blazing in the second innings with captain Rohit leading the charge. India declared after scoring 181/2 in 24 overs, setting a daunting target of 365 runs for West Indies. In reply, the hosts scored 76 runs and lost two wickets before the end of the day's play on June 23 (Sunday).
