'This is quite disappointing': Taniya Bhatia lambasts London hotel for lackluster attitude towards her robbery complaint

Indian wicketkeeper-batter Taniya Bhatia slammed the London hotel on September 28 (Wednesday) for not responding to her robbery complaint.

"I still haven't recd any response from the hotel management. This is quite disappointing. The items that were stolen from my room were both valuable and important to me. Has any action been taken since the theft? An update would be much appreciated," Taniya wrote on Twitter.

Bhatia was the unfortunate victim of a robbery at the Marriot Hotel London Maida Val, which was the team hotel for India during their final ODI against England. Taniya then took to social media to share her grievances, while calling out the cricket board of England as well.

“Shocked and disappointed at Marriot Hotel London Maida Vale management; someone walked into my personal room and stole my bag with cash, cards, watches and jewellery during my recent stay as a part of the Indian Women’s Cricket team. So unsafe,” Bhatia had written on Twitter.

"Hoping for a quick investigation and resolution of this matter. Such lack of security at @ECB_cricket’s preferred hotel partner is astounding. Hope they will take cognisance as well,” she added.

India played three T20Is and as many ODIs in England from September 10 to 24. Bhatia was part of India’s limited-overs squad in England. The Women in Blue beat England in the final ODI at Lord’s on Saturday to win the ODI series 3-0.
