The Delhi Capitals (DC) approached the IPL 2024 auction with high stakes, particularly in light of their underwhelming performance in the previous season. Under David Warner's leadership, the team struggled, finishing ninth with only five victories in 14 league games. However, there's a glimmer of hope for the team as Rishabh Pant, who had a life-threatening car accident in December 2022, is making a steady recovery. Recent updates indicate that Pant is actively involved in a training camp with DC in Kolkata, receiving guidance from Ricky Ponting, Pravin Amre, and Sourav Ganguly.
With their sights set on clinching their first IPL title, DC retained 16 players and has a considerable budget of Rs 28.95 crore for the auction. They need to fill nine spots, including four for overseas players, making them one of the most active teams in the auction, second only to Kolkata Knight Riders.
Meanwhile, DC picked former Sunrisers Hyderabad's batter Harry Brook for a whopping sum of Rs 4 crore. Notably he was bought for Rs 13.25 crore by SRH in last edition of the IPL.
