Faf du Plessis-led Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) dropped star all-rounder Glenn Maxwell and premium pacer Mohammed Siraj from the playing XI of match 30 of the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League against Pat Cummins' Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium, on April 15 (Monday).
Fans react to RCB dropping Maxwell and Siraj
The RCB captain explained that the team made this decision in an attempt to turn around things. The Bengaluru-based franchise is currently at the bottom of the points table with only one win in six matches. Winning this clash against SRH is crucial for RCB in order to stay alive in the playoffs race.
“We haven't played our best cricket. Feels like most of the times we haven't played to our full potential. We have made changes to see if we can turn it around. Maxwell is sitting out, Siraj is sitting out. Ferguson is coming in,” said Du Plessis after winning the toss.
Fans across the globe were shocked following the decision and expressed their opinion on social media.
