Gujarat Titans (GT) lock horns with Chennai Super Kings (CSK) as Ruturaj Gaikwad won the toss and chose to bowl first at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad in their IPL 2024 match on May 10, Friday. While CSK are perched at the fourth place in the IPL 2024's points table and are staring at playoff spot, GT are reeling at the bottom of the table and their chances to make it to the top four look far-fetched.
Talking about the team combination, Ruturaj Gaikwad brought back Rachin Ravindra in place of Richard Gleeson in CSK's playing XI.
What did the captains say?
CSK skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad, after winning the toss, said:
“We will bowl first. Looks a good wicket to be honest. It's been a chasing ground, so we will look to chase. Pretty much similar to Chennai. We didn't like a red soild wicket much. Pretty relaxed. You tend to lose many games in IPL, you got to back everyone and make sure everyone is in a good head space. We had injuries in between, but happy. Rachin comes in for Gleeson.”
Meanwhile GT captain Shubman Gill, after the toss, said:
'Would have bowled first as well, looks a good wicket. There's 1 percent chance of qualifying, so we are going to try hard for that. The mood is like any other match, we as a team believe in doing the best we can. Will be a good surface to bat on. Will score runs and try to restrict them. Wade comes in for Saha".

Pitch report
“It's got a good covering of grass and it feels solid under the hand. I am looking at a high-scoring game. Two teams are going to come and push that 200-run mark. I can't see the pitch changing. There might be a little bit of swing early on. You got two bowlers on either side that can swing. Good outfield, I am looking at a high-scoring game,” Chris Morris analysed the pitch.
