Hardik makes one big change in MI playing XI.

Hardik Pandya-led Mumbai Indians are taking on Rishabh Pant's Delhi Capitals in match 43 of the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi, on April 27 (Saturday). However, the MI skipper did not get a pleasing welcome from the fans as they were constantly booing him and greeting him with 'Rohit Rohit chants.

Hardik Pandya has been on the receiving end of criticism and trolling ever since he overtook Rohit Sharma as the new MI skipper. Fans constantly boo him when he is on the ground and this has been the scene throughout the season across different venues. He received a similar treatment from fans at Delhi ground.

Hardik won the toss for MI and elected to bow first. He made one major change in their playing after bringing in Luke Wood in the place of their second-leading wicket-taker Gerald Coetzee. The Proteas pacer has taken 12 wickets so far in 8 matches.

“We're going to bowl first. The ground is small. It's better to bat second on a smaller ground. Every game is a new game, we make sure we are not out. We keep fighting and keep coming hard in each game. The mood is fine, happy chats, all is well. You should not really focus on what has happened in the past. Anyone can beat anyone. Our goal is to play our brand of cricket and put our best foot forward. Only one change,” said Hardik after winning the toss.

However, Hardik's decision to bowl first backfired on them after Delhi opener Jake Fraser-McGurk attacked the MI pacer from the first ball itself. He helped Delhi post 89 runs in the first FIVE overs itself.
