Bollywood stars' delivered power-packed performances at M.A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on the opening day of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 match between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). The lineup of performers featured Bollywood actors Akshay Kumar, Tiger Shroff, and singer Sonu Nigam along with musical maestro AR Rahman. They delivered an energetic performance to entertain the crowd.
Tiger Shroff take over the dance floor
The ceremony started with an electrifying performance by Tiger Shroff. He performed on 'Jai Jai Shiv Shankar' from his film ‘War’.
Akshay Kumar leaves audiences in awe
Akshay Kumar left his mark on IPL 2024 as he performed on his hit track ‘Desi Boyz’ and ‘Bala’ from his film ‘Housefull’. He also danced to the ‘Shaitan ka Sala’ song.
Sonu Nigam sings ‘Vande Mataram’
The IPL organisers set the stage with the huge hologram of India Gate when Singer Sonu Nigam came on the stage. He gave a memorable performance with a melody rendition of ‘Vande Mataram’ at the IPL 2024 ceremony, evoking cheers from the audience.
AR Rahman's patriotic performance
After a brilliant performance by Sonu Nigam, musical maestro AR Rahman took the stage and started singing patriotic songs like ‘Maa Tujhe Salaam’. He left everyone in awe with the Oscar-winning ‘Jai Ho’ song in opening ceremony.
Renowned singer Mohit Chauhan also gave a stellar performance. Rahman joined him and both sang 'Kun Faya Kun' and 'Masakali'. Famous singer Neeti Mohan also set the stage on fire as she sang Shreya Ghoshal's famous song ‘Barso Re’. Chauhan, Neeti, and others also joined hands with Rahman on the stage during the opening ceremony.
