Highlights:

Glenn Maxwell has scraped together a mere 36 runs across 8 matches, averaging 5.14 with a strike rate of only 97.29.

All Maxwell needs is one solid knock to regain his confidence which seems to have plummeted at an all-time low.

Former India wicketkeeper-batter Parthiv Patel blasted Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) superstar Glenn Maxwell after the Australian all-rounder failed miserably in the Indian Premier League (IPL) match against the Gujarat Titans (GT) on May 4 (Saturday). After Maxwell departed for just four runs, Parthiv took to X (formerly Twitter) and launched a blistering attack at the Aussie superstar, who is widely renowned for his winning matches single-handedly.

Yet, for some strange reasons, Maxwell has failed to make any significant impact in the IPL. This season, Maxwell's performances have been harrowing to such an extent that he decided to take himself out of the RCB playing XI.

Looking at Maxwell's poor run of form in the IPL, Parthiv Patel called the Aussie batter 'the most overrated player in history of IPL'.

"glenn maxwell….HE IS THE MOST OVERRATED player in the history of ipl…#IPL2024," Patel said in a tweet.

In a separate tweet, Parthiv justified his statement by affirming that Maxwell has failed to translate his international performances into IPL success.

"My point exactly. He hasn’t translated his international form and reputation to the #IPL. Given the opportunities he’s had across franchisees, his performance has been very underwhelming," Parthiv said in a separate tweet.

How has Maxwell faired in IPL 2024?

The IPL 2024 season could be a nightmare Glenn Maxwell will want to forget unless he turns things around dramatically in the remaining games. Shockingly, the Australian all-rounder has scraped together a mere 36 runs across 8 matches, averaging a dismal 5.14 with a lackluster strike rate of only 97.29. This performance marks a staggering decline for a player of his caliber.

All Maxwell needs is one solid knock to regain his confidence which seems to have plummeted at an all-time low. If there is any batter who can smash his way out of this slump, then look no further than Maxwell.
