Former Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma survived a big injury scare during match 33 of the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur, on April 18 (Thursday). In Sam Curran's over the star batter got hit right on his helmet while trying to play a paddle shot backward to the square.

 

Rohit survives big injury

 

Rohit Sharma was trying to paddle a delivery from Sam Curran in the 12th over when he completely misjudged the pace and hit his helmet with the ball. Luckily, he took no damage. Even Curran straight away ran towards him to check upon him.

Rohit had everyone worried for a moment and it appeared as if Curran gave Mumbai Indians a huge blow. This was also Rohit's 250th IPL match and he completed 6500 IPL runs in the same.

 

MI post 192/7 vs PBKS

 

Rohit got out after scoring 36 runs off 25 balls and could not turn the start into a big knock. However, fifty from Suryakumar Yadav helped Mi post a good total of 192 runs. Suryakumar Yadav got out after playing a knock of 78 runs off 53 balls. Apart from them, Tilak Varma played an astonishing innings of 34 runs off just 18 balls.

 

As for Punjab Kings, Harshal Patel picked up three wickets and Sam Curran grabbed two. Meanwhile, Kagiso Rabada just had to settle with one scalp in front of his name.
