The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 opener will be played on March 22 between defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in Chennai.
The IPL 2024 initial schedule for the 17 days was declared on February 22. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the IPL dates only for the first 21 matches, starting from March 22 and April 7 across 10 cities. The dates for the second phase of the IPL schedule will be announced later.
The partial schedule was announced because the IPL dates were clashing with the Lok Sabha elections’ date. However, the Election Commission of India has recently announced the complete schedule of General Elections 2024. So, it is expected that the second phase of the IPL fixtures will be announced soon.
Sanju Samson-led Rajasthan Royals are ready to face formidable opponents. They will compete against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in their opening match.
