The co-owner of Kolkata Knight Riders Shah Rukh Khan has expressed his heartfelt desire to see KKR star Rinku Singh in the Indian squad for the upcoming edition of the T20 World Cup 2024 which is set to be held in the USA and West Indies. Rinku has emerged as a promising finisher for Team India and the Knights in the last couple of years and is one front-runner for the spot of finisher in the Indian team for the mega tournament.

The buzz around India's T20 World Cup squad is getting bigger and bigger as ICC's final date for squad announcement gets closer. Shah Rukh Khan wished to see Rinku Singh on the Indian team. He will be extremely happy to see him there.

"Such amazing players are playing for the country. I am really looking forward to Rinku, Inshallah being in the World Cup Squad and some other youngsters from other teams also. Some of them deserve it so much, but my personal wish is that Rinku makes it to the team. I will be so happy. That will be the high point for me." With the KKR top-order doing the bulk of scoring so far this season, Rinku has not got many opportunities with the bat," Shah Rukh Khan told Star Sports.

Rinku Singh has been a great finisher for KKR and smashed 474 last season from just 14 matches with an astonishing strike rate of 149.53. However, he has not been able to deliver the same this time around. He has only scored 123 runs in 9 matches but his strike rate has still been 150.

 

The KKR star has tremendous stats in T20Is as well. He has 356 runs from just 11 innings and has an impressive strike rate of 176.23. He can be a terrific addition to the Indian team going for the T20 World Cup.
