Star pacer Matt Henry grabbed his second wicket of his IPL career and it came after a span of seven years. His first IPL wicket came in the match between Punjab Kings, then Kings XI Punjab and Kolkata Knight Riders back in 2017. He dismissed KKR's Manish Pandey for his debut wicket. Now after 7 years, Henry got his second wicket by dismissing Ajinkya Rahane in the IPL 2024 match between Chennai Super Kings and Lucknow Super Giants at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, on April 23 (Tuesday).
Matt Henry's second IPL wicket
LSG won the toss and elected to bowl first. Rahane and Gaikwad came to open for CSK. Henry was bowling the first over and he got the wicket of Ajinkya Rahane in the first over itself with the help of a stunning catch from KL Rahul.
The difference between his first and second IPL wicket is 7 years. Henry is currently one of the main fast bowlers for Lucknow and has the opportunity to prove himself in the cash-rich league.
Henry's revenge against CSK
Matt Henry was a part of the Chennai Super Kings team between 2014 and 2015 but former CSK captain MS Dhoni never game him a chance in the playing XI and now Henry has proved his calibre in the clash against Chennai itself.
After Henry, Yash Thakur dismissed returning Daryl Mitchell in the sixth over to give CSK two big blows inside the batting powerplay itself. However, fifty from captain Gaikwad didn't let the hosts to fall on the backfoot.
