Royal Challengers Bengaluru defeated Delhi Capitals by a massive margin of 47 runs in match 62 of the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, on May 12 (Sunday). This was RCB's fifth consecutive win and this have brought them to the number five spot on the points table and boosted their chance to qualify for the playoffs. After the match, Virat Kohli and Sourav Ganguly shared a nice moment and buried the hatchet around last year's ‘no-handshake’ controversy.
Virat Kohli and Sourav Ganguly end conflict
The conflict between Kohli and Ganguly was a secret to no one. In 2021, Virat was removed from ODI captaincy a month after stepping down as the T20I skipper. This led to a further rise in conflict between the former captain and THE BCCI, then under the administration of Sourav Ganguly. The India batting maestro later also gave up on his role as the Indian Test captain in January 2022.
After a year, during IPL 2023, Kohli was captured giving DC's director of cricket a death stare at Ganguly during the RCB and DC clash. The former BCCI president later skipped the line to avoid a handshake with Kohli after the end of the match.

However, now both cricketers have ended the past controversy after sharing a handshake after the RCB vs DC clash in IPL 2024. Ganguly even congratulated Kohli on the big win and Kohli thanked him. The video of this interaction is now going viral all across the social space.
RCB close to playoff spot
RCB have gotten really close to the playoff spot but their road ahead still depends on a lot of factors than just their win. They first need to beat CSK by 18 runs or chase their target within 18.1 overs assuming they score 200 batting first. They also want LSG to either lose both their matches or if they win one of their two matches it should be by a really small margin. DC will be playing their final game against LSG and RCB will also have to see that DC don't pick up a mammoth win against Lucknow.
