Ahead of IPL 2024, Will Jacks and Moeen Ali showcased their prowess by guiding Comilla Victorians to a resounding 73-run victory over Chattogram Challengers in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2024 match on Tuesday, February 13.

Jacks, representing Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the IPL, and Moeen Ali, associated with Chennai Super Kings (CSK), exhibited stellar performances at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram during the BPL 2024 encounter.

 

Opting to bat first, Jacks unleashed a blistering innings, amassing 108 runs off 53 deliveries, comprising 5 fours and 10 sixes. His remarkable contribution propelled the Victorians to a formidable total of 239 for the loss of 3 wickets in their allotted 20 overs.

Litton Das laid a solid foundation with a brisk 60 off 31 balls, setting the stage for Moeen Ali's explosive unbeaten knock of 53 runs from 24 balls, including two fours and five sixes.

 

Moeen's All-Round Brilliance Shines Through

 

Following his exceptional batting display, Moeen further demonstrated his prowess with the ball, showcasing his versatility. He joined the ranks of Durdanto Dhaka's Shoriful Islam as the second player to achieve a hat-trick in the ongoing edition of the BPL.

Moeen made an impact in the 15th over by claiming the crucial wicket of Shykat Ali, who had aggressively scored 36 runs off just 11 balls, including a four and five sixes.

 

Then, in the 17th over, Moeen achieved the hat-trick feat. Within the first three deliveries of his last over, he dismissed Shohidul Islam, Al-Amin Hossain, and Bilal Khan, effectively ending the Challengers' innings. With figures of 3.3-0-23-4, Moeen played a pivotal role as the Victorians bowled out the Challengers for 166 runs in 16.3 overs. This victory propelled the Victorians to second place in the table, just below the Rangpur Riders.
