India's former skipper and Royal Challengers Bangalore's (RCB) star batter Virat Kohli is going through a sheer dip in form for quite a long time now. He continued his saga of form slump in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) as he was dismissed for a golden duck for the third time in the IPL 2022 in the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Sunday (May 8).

Meanwhile, Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has reposed faith in India's star batter and during a conversation with Sports Tak said that Virat's form is not a matter of great worry and it's just a matter of time nothing else.

"See Virat Kohli is a player who have done extremely well for Indian cricket in all the formats. He has been the captain of Indian and he knows what his responsibility is. But yes, for the past few years he is not in that shape or form. I think it's just a matter of time and nothing else. His approach towards the game is there, his hunger for the runs you can see but it's time which is not on his side these days.. few days back I spoke to him on the sidelines of match he said 'I am trying to do push myself, I am mentally, physically absolutely alright. I am not thinking about my performance, just want want to get good runs,"' the BCCI official told Sports Tak.

Before IPL 2022, Kohli had just three golden ducks since he made his debut for RCB in the inaugural edition. With his third duck, Kohli equalled West Indies pacer Ravi Rampaul's nine-year-old record. Rampaul registered three ducks in the 2013 season. Anuj Rawat has got out for three ducks in this season as well. Also, Kohli has had three ducks in a season in the 2014 edition.

The top BCCI official said,"I can say that he should be given some time for the same every player goes through bad phase so he is, there is no problem at all. we have T20I World Cup in few month and I am sure he will bounce back for what he is known for".

Many cricket pundits including former India head coach and ex-England skipper Kevin Pietersen had earlier advised Kohli to take a break from cricket in order to rewire himself and then make a resounding comeback.

Talking on the same line, the official said, "See it's totally his call or if selectors feel that he should be given break he will be given. As of now I don't want to comment on whether he should be given the break or not. South Africa is coming to India next month if he will be required rest or break he can ask the selectors for the same".
