In a massive announcement just before the start of the IPL 2022, MS Dhoni decided that he will hand over the captaincy reins to Chennai Super Kings (CSK) all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja.
"MS Dhoni has decided to hand over the leadership of Chennai Super Kings and picked Ravindra Jadeja to lead the team. Jadeja, who has been an integral part of the Chennai Super Kings since 2021, will only be the third player to lead CSK. Dhoni will continue to represent Chennai Super Kings this season and beyond," CSK said in a statement.
Jadeja, who has played for Chennai Super Kings since 2012, will be the third player to lead CSK. Previously, Raina and Dhoni had led the CSK franchise.
MS Dhoni will continue to play for CSK. Previously, Dhoni had helped CSK in winning four IPL titles (2010, 2011, 2018, 2021). The former Indian skipper led CSK in 204 matches in IPL. He won 121 matches out of the 204 matches and lost in 82 games as one match ended without a result. Dhoni has a win percentage of 59.60.
