West Indies’ T20 World Cup 2016 hero Carlos Brathwaite endured a horrid day on his return to cricket. Brathwaite did not just have a bad day on the field but got his car stolen too in England while playing in Birmingham & District Premier Cricket League.

On his debut for Knowle & Dorridge CC against Leamington CC, Brathwaite bowled for the first time in six months after recovering from injury. It did not turn out the way he expected. The Caribbean all-rounder leaked 31 runs from his four overs in a low-scoring 50-over game.

The former West Indies skipper then hoped to deliver for his team with the bat on debut but got out for a golden duck. The 33-year-old came to bat at no.5 in the run chase when they were 76/3. There was no need for a big shot but he took on Dinuk de Silva and got caught in the deep by Pierce Ryan.

After a bad day on and off the field, Brathwaite tweeted:

 What a day yesterday

- First time bowling in a game after injury for six months

- First ball duck from a long hop

- Car stolen

But you know what, woke up this morning, Sun is shining and giving thanks

After informing his followers about the stolen car, he asked them to roast him. Also, he announced that the most voted roast will get two tickets for T20 Blast game at Edgbaston this year. He tagged four of his followers as well who came up with funny roasts.

The Barbados-born batter has not played a single T20I or ODI since August 2019. While recovering from the injury, he also commentated in the Under-19 World Cup 2022. Brathwaite is known for hitting four consecutive sixes off Ben Stokes to help West Indies win the T20 WC 2016 at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. However, he has not been able to perform consistently. As a result, he has an average of 16.44 and 14.76 in ODI and T20I format respectively.
