IPL 2022: Finalists GT, RR showered with cash as prize money for various awards revealed!

Gujarat Titans (GT) have secured the 2022 Indian Premier League (IPL) title in their very first season in the cash-rich tournament after a well-fought battle with Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the final. The side led by Hardik Pandya were among the best teams throughout the course of the tournament and backed up their prowess with a place at the top of the points table and also the coveted trophy. 


The glory and glamour of being the IPL champions is not the only major incentive for a player to fight for the trophy. But also the opportunity to become millionaires given the vast pools of cash awards at stake in the competition. Here, we take a look at the different cash rewards on offer after the culmination of the cricket extravaganza.

 

IPL 2022 WINNERS

The eventual champions Titans were awarded a massive Rs 20 crores after securing the coveted title. Meanwhile, the losing side were also given a hefty amount of Rs 13 crores.


ORANGE AND PURPLE CAP WINNERS

Rajasthan's Jos Buttler was the recipient of the Orange Cap this season after his 863 runs this season, including four centuries for the Royals in 17 matches this season. Meanwhile, overtaking Wanindu Hasaranga with his one wicket in the final in Yuzvendra Chahal, who won the Purple Cap with 27 scalps to his name this season. Both were awarded Rs 15 lakh.


The Emerging Player of the Season is Sunrisers Hyderabad's speed express Umran Malik, whose pace and 22 wickets caught many by storm this season. He will get Rs 20 lakhs in recognition of his contributions. The rest of the teams will receive their prize money on the basis of their position on the points table.
