Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) got the better of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by 13 runs in their IPL clash on Wednesday (May 4). But the match witnessed much more than the cricket at the MCA stadium. A girl in the stands went down on her knees and proposed to her boyfriend with a ring, who happened to be a RCB fan. The guy didn’t waste any time in accepting the proposal and immediately wore the ring after which they were seen hugging each other.
The instance occurred during CSK’s innings in the game in the second half. Everyone around the couple started recording the moment as the cameraman captured the scenario as the pictures and videos started to go viral all over social media.
CSK opener Devon Conway celebrated the proposal with a six in that same over off RCB leg-spinner Wanindu Hasaranga.
As far as match is concerned, Harshal Patel and Glenn Maxwell led a clinical bowling performance to help RCB register a 13-run win over CSK, pushing the defending champions to the brink of elimination in the IPL.
The quartet of Mahipal Lomror, who smashed a 27-ball 42, skipper Faf du Plessis (38 off 22), Virat Kohli (30 off 33) and Dinesh Karthik (27 not out off 17) did well to lift RCB to 173/8.
RCB bowlers then restricted the defending champions to 160 for 8, despite a fifty by opener Devon Conway (56).
While Maxwell ended with excellent figures of 2 for 22 off his four overs, Harshal was right on the money, snapping three wickets while giving away 35 runs.
Shabaz Ahmed (1/27), Wanindu Hasaranga (1/31) and Josh Hazlewood (1/19) also picked a wicket each.
With the win RCB moved to fourth position on the points table, while CSK were pushed closer to the brink of elimination as they remained at the penultimate spot.
