Sunrisers Hyderabad's (SRH) uncapped batter Abhishek Sharma moved into the top five of the orange cap standings after his brilliant 42-ball 65 helped his team post a target of 196 for their opponents Gujarat Titans (GT) to chase down. The 2016 Indian Premier League (IPL) champions looked set to win their match at the Wankhede on Wednesday but were denied by some brilliant batting by Rahul Tewatia and Rashid Khan in the slog overs of the game.
Another player to improve after Wednesday's game was GT skipper Hardik Pandya. Although he managed just 10 runs against SRH, Pandya moved above Shikhar Dhawan into third place with 305 runs.
Meanwhile, Rajasthan Royals (RR) opener Jos Buttler remains on top although he scored just eight runs against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). He has 499 runs this season, averaging 71.29 runs per match.
