IPL 2022 Orange Cap: Four batters close in on LSG skipper KL Rahul, Warner stays static despite golden duck

SportsTak

The pressure is mounting on Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) skipper KL Rahul, who has not been able to keep up his early-season form and now finds himself as the leader of a chasing pack, with David Warner, Shikhar Dhawan, Deepak Hooda and Shubman Gill closing in on his tally of 469 runs this season. He will be relieved that David Warner was out for a golden duck in the last match between Delhi Capitals (DC) and Punjab Kings (PBKS), while Shikhar Dhawan only managed to score 19 runs.

A duck against PBKS did not affect Warner's position on the Orange Cap standings, however, with the Australian opener currently third on the list with 427 runs under his belt. Meanwhile, Dhawan did close in on his counterpart's tally but his 19 was not enough to bridge the gap.

Rajasthan Royals' (RR) Jos Buttler has created a monopoly at the top, with his 627 runs, and barring a big innings from KL Rahul or the others, it will be extremely hard to catch up with the Englishman.

Let's have a look at the top-10 batters' list:
