It was a good day for Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) fans, with the new Indian Premier League (IPL) entrants not only beating Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) but 75 runs, but also displacing Gujarat Titans (GT) from the top of the points table. Their team's brilliant performance was led by their bowling unit, who dismissed the KKR batters within 101 runs to improve their Net Run Rate (NRR) to 0.703, much above GT, who have lost their last two matches.
Meanwhile, Rajasthan Royals (RR) were also at their best against Punjab Kings (PBKS), beating them by six wickets, with youngster Yashasvi Jaiswal finally coming to the fore this season for RR. Chasing 190 for the win, Jaiswal smashed 68 runs off 41 balls at a strike rate of 165.85. Meanwhile, when the going got tough, Shimron Hetmyer notched a brilliant 16-ball 31 at a strike rate of 193.75 to get his team over the line.
This win gave RR 14 points, and even a win for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) over Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) will not take RCB over their opponents from North India.
