Punjab Kings (PBKS) were back to their best when they faced Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 fixture at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai on Friday, May 13. It was a crucial win for the Mayank Agarwal-led side, who moved above Delhi Capitals on the standings to sixth but are just behind Delhi Capitals by virtue of their lower Net Run Rate (NRR).
Delhi have an NRR of 0.210, while PBKS managed to push their NRR into the positive after their 54-run victory over RCB, and wins in their final two games will secure a place in the top four.
But for Bangalore, who have just one game left, the prospect of reaching the playoffs before is tougher after their loss to PBKS. The side needs to win their final game of the league stage against the already qualified Gujarat Titans (GT) on Thursday, May 19.
