Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) were back to their best and arrested their five-match losing streak when they beat Mumbai Indians (MI) by three runs during their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 game at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Tuesday (May 17). Leading the line in their batting unit was Rahul Tripathi, who hit a lovely 76 runs off 44 balls, striking at a rate of 172.72 and helping his team to a formidable total of 193.
And although Mumbai began their batting on a bright note, they faltered after openers Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan were dismissed. Although hard-hitter Tim David brought the game back within their grasp with a lovely 18-ball 46 at a rate of 255.55. It was an important innings but was not enough, especially after a brilliant wicket-maiden by Bhuvaneshwar Kumar in the 19th over of the game.
Although SRH's victory did not change their position on the points table, it brought them level on the standings with Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) both of whom have 12 points under their belt. All three teams need to win their final match of the season to qualify for the playoffs of IPL 2022.
