With the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 edging closer, the teams are finally coming together for the first time this season to prepare for the 16th edition of the mega event. Along with this comes the camaraderie that some player share, in what might be the culmination of long and successful careers in the cash-rich league.
On Thursday night, four-time champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) shared a video of their legendary captain MS Dhoni and all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja finally together after the latter completed his international duties with India. The duo were seen sharing a laugh during a training session at a CSK camp.

This light-hearted moment spelt relief for the fans, with their two senior-most players in the thick of controversy during IPL 2022.

Jadeja was made the captain of CSK ahead of the tournament but the team's poor performances forced the all-rounder to relinquish the role and give it back to Dhoni, who had previously captained the side for 14 seasons. Jadeja was then ruled out of the tournament with a rib cage injury, as many were of the opinion that Jadeja's time with the franchise was done.

The Chennai-based outfit finished ninth in the 10-team tournament in 2022.

During a recent conversation with Star Sports, Jadeja revealed that he owed his cricketing journey to two Mahendras, his coach and his captain Dhoni at Chennai Super Kings.

"I told Mahi bhai, that my cricketing journey has been between Mahendra Singh Chauhan, my coach in Jamnagar and Mahendra Singh Dhoni, my captain at CSK. My cricketing journey has really been between these two Mahendras," said Jadeja on Star Sports.

The star all-rounder missed most of the action that India played in 2022 after his injury concerns but made a ceremonious return to the team with his performances with both bat and ball in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia.

Meanwhile, Chennai Super Kings will begin their campaign against the defending champions Gujarat Titans on March 31.
