IPL 2023, DC vs KKR: Ishant Sharma makes comeback after nearly 2 years, Nitish Rana makes 4 changes in Kolkata's playing XI

Delhi Capitals (DC) lock horns with former champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) as David Warner won the toss and elected to bowl first in their Indian Premier League (IPL) clash at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Thursday (April 20). The toss was scheduled to take place at 7 pm IST but owing to persistent rain it got delayed to 8:15 PM IST.

“We will have a bowl first. Weather being around, you don't know what the total is going to be. We haven't been disciplined with the ball. We have two changes. Ishant Sharma and Phil Salt are in, and Porel and Mustafizur are out,” DC skipper Warner said after winning the toss.

“We are playing after 3 years thanks to Covid. Every thing feels new. We have four changes. Tough to remember. If we play as a unit. It should be tough to beat us. We have four changes but can't remember all of them,” KKR captain Nitish Rana said after the toss.

Pitch report

“Looks like a very good surface, it's a bit dry underneath. There shouldn't be a huge amount of spin, particularly later in the day. The ball can swing a little early on in the powerplay if it's pitched in the right areas. Once the batters get past those conditions, they can score big,” Aaron Finch analysed the pitch.

Delhi Capitals (Playing XI): David Warner(c), Philip Salt(w), Mitchell Marsh, Manish Pandey, Axar Patel, Aman Hakim Khan, Lalit Yadav, Kuldeep Yadav, Anrich Nortje, Ishant Sharma, Mukesh Kumar.
