IPL 2023: Glenn Maxwell and Virat Kohli's reactions to Faf du Plessis's cracking 115m six goes viral

SportsTak

It rained fours and sixes in a high-voltage clash between the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Monday, April 10. Lucknow stole the victory on the last ball despite RCB amassing 212 runs on the scoreboard with 12 fours and 15 sixes to their name. In the midst of all this, one thing being discussed on social media is du Plessis's six which landed on the roof of the stadium.

Du Plessis hit 5 fours and as many sixes during his long innings that spanned across the 20 overs of their batting. One of these maximums โ€” ย his second of the game off Ravi Bishnoi's bowling โ€” was a huge one which went over everyone in the stadium and into the roof!

The maximum left his teammate Glenn Maxwell dumbfounded at the non-striker's end as it was a 115-metre six, one of the biggest to be hit in this stadium.

Maxwell left shocked

Glenn Maxwell and Virat Kohli were surprised after this six. In the 15th over, Bishnoi bowled a very short ball, which the former South Africa captain perfectly hit to ensure the ball soared out of the stadium. This maximum was the biggest of du Plessis's IPL career.

Virat Kohli and his funny reaction

Both Faf and Maxwell were surprised to see the six, But the funniest reaction was that of Kohli, who was sitting in the pavilion. And the camera captured this reaction perfectly. Kohli could not trust his own eyes when he witnessed the six. Kohli was sitting in the dugout and then he told his fellow player that he would not be able to hit that far!

A perfect innings spoilt by LSG
Du Plessis started the match with a partnership of 96 runs alongside the prolific Virat Kohli and then went on to combine with Australian Glenn Maxwell, who himself smashed 59 runs off 29 balls at a strike rate of 203.44. With a tough target to chase down, LSG managed to take the match to the final over courtesy of Nicholas Pooran (62) and Marcus Stoinis (65) as Lucknow went on to secure an impressive and close one-wicket victory.
