IPL 2023: Lucknow Super Giants rope in Himachal Pradesh bowler to replace the injured Mayank Yadav

The Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) have brought in 25-year-old Arpit Guleria for the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 season. He will join the squad as a replacement for Mayank Yadav, who has an undetermined injury forcing him out of the tournament.

On the domestic circuit, Arpit plays for made his debut in domestic cricket for Himachal Pradesh and the Services. He has played 15 First-Class matches and 12 List A games and has bagged 44 and 11 wickets respectively. He is yet to make his T20 debut.

Arpit was snapped up by LSG for Rs 20 Lakh. Meanwhile, Mayank himself is yet to make his IPL debut.

LSG, who finished third on the points table in IPL 2022, have won their last two match in IPL 2023. They now face the in-form Punjab Kings (PBKS) Saturday, April 15, in the second match of the day. A win will take them to the top of the points table.

This news comes after KKR also made a change to their squad, bringing in Aarya Desai as Shreyas Iyer's replacement. The star batter who represents Gujarat in domestic cricket doesn't have much exposure to cricket as he has 151 runs against his name in the three First Class matches he has played so far. Aarya had made his first-class debut in January and is yet to play List A or T20 cricket for his state team.

In their previous fixture, LSG came back from an extremely precarious position to beat the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). Chasing 212 for the win, the franchise from Lucknow lost three quick wickets and were on 23/3 in four overs when West Indians power-hitter Nicholas Pooran (62 off 19) and Australis' star all-rounder Marcus Stoinis (65 off 30) combined to take their side over a dramatic run chase at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Monday.
