IPL 2023 Purple Cap: Only one wicket separates top five bowlers with Yuzvendra Chahal marginally ahead of the pack

The Indian Premier League (IPL 2023) witnessed yet another pulsating game on April 18 (Tuesday). Five-time champions Mumbai Indians (MI) registered a hard-fought 14-run victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. With the win, Mumbai scaled to sixth place in the points table while they also completed a hat-trick of victories.

When it comes to the race for Purple Cap, three bowlers are tied with 11 wickets while two bowlers are locked with 10 wickets each. Yuzvendra Chahal currently occupies the top spot in the leading wicket-takers list.

4. Mohammed Shami: Gujarat Titans' premier pacer has bagged 10 wickets in five matches and currently occupies fourth place in the points table.

5. Tushar Deshpande: CSK's right-arm pacer has 10 wickets in five matches. The young pacer has an average of 20.90 with the ball.

6. Mohammed Siraj: RCB's premier pacer has been a revelation this season. He has bagged eight wickets in five matches.

7. Ravi Bishnoi: Lucknow Super Giants leg-spinner has bagged eight wickets in five matches. The young wrist spinner has been a revelation for the Lucknow-based franchise this season so far.
