Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) captain Faf du Plessis carried the bat for his team with a blistering innings of 79 runs from 46 balls to take his team's total to an impressive 212 runs during their match against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.
He first started the innings with a partnership of 96 runs alongside the prolific Virat Kohli and then went on to combine with Australian Glenn Maxwell, who himself smashed 59 runs off 29 balls at a strike rate of 203.44.
Du Plessis hit 5 fours and as many sixes during his long innings that spanned across the 20 overs of their batting. One of these maximums — his second of the game off Ravi Bishnoi's bowling — was a huge one which went over everyone in the stadium and into the roof!
The maximum was a 115-metre six, one of the biggest to be hit in this stadium.

This is the longest six of the tournament till now, just two metres lesser than Liam Livingstone's smash for the Punjab Kings (PBKS) in IPL 2022. He also equalled MS Dhoni's record for the longest six and is the fourth RCB player to get into the top 10, after Chris Gayle, Robin Uthappa and Ross Taylor.
Here is a list of the longest sixes in the history of the Indian Premier League.
