Delhi Capitals (DC) yet again got off to a worst start possible in the Indian Premier League (IPL) with four straight defeats as they are missing their hard hitter batter Rishabh Pant. On Friday, the star wicketkeeper-batter met DC teammates and gave an update on his injury after sustaining multiple injuries in a brutal car accident. He said he is getting better with each passing day after being treated for his injuries.
The 25-year-old suffered numerous injuries last year in December when his car collided with a divider on the Delhi-Dehradun highway. On his road to recovery, Pant said, "I am recovering very well and I'm getting better with each passing day. I came to visit the National Cricket Academy and the Delhi Capitals happened to be there. So I met the team."
On Friday, Rishabh Pant visited the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru to meet his Delhi Capitals (DC) team, who are currently training ahead of their match against the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the ongoing IPL 2023.
"I just saw how the team's practice is carrying on. I really love to be around the boys and I am missing it," Pant added.
Pant also wished DC ahead of their next game against RCB,"My heart and soul are always with the Delhi Capitals. I would like to wish them all the best for their next match."
Going by Pant's extent of injuries, he will be missing most of the tournaments this year that the Indian team will be a part of. He will not be a part of the World Test Championship (WTC) Final, Asia Cup 2023 and the upcoming 50-over World Cup which will be played later this year.
The first time we got to see Pant on a cricket field after his accident was when he attended Delhi Capitals' first home game against Gujarat Titans (GT) on April 04. It was rather an easy chase for the Titans as they won the match with six wickets and 11 balls to spare.
In the ongoing edition of the IPL, DC have lost all their four games and are reeling at the bottom of the points table. They recently lost their home game against Mumbai Indian's (MI) on April 11.
