Mumbai Indians (MI) pulled off a last-ball victory over Delhi Capitals in a cracker of an Indian Premier League (IPL) contest at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Tuesday (April 11).
Both the teams were coming on the back of a winless streak as both MI and DC lost their first three ties. But it was Rohit Sharma's brigade who managed to open their winning account in the sixteenth season of the glitzy league. After restricting David Warner-led side to 172, skipper Rohit led from the front in the chase with a magnificent 65 off 45 to help the five-time champions win the match by six wickets which only stretched DC's misery to four matches which placed them at the bottom of the 10-team points table.
The hero of the match Rohit was over the moon after team's victory but at the same time biting his nails when the match approached the nervy ending.
Post the match, Rohit was seen interacting with wife Ritika Sajdeh via video call and promised her that he will win the trophy for their daughter Samaira. Ritika while congratulating the MI captain said that daughter Samaira will be happy for the trophy.
Rohit while responding said, “Samy is happy to see the trophy, not my batting. Yeah, I will get the trophy for her.”
”I was screaming so loud my voice is completely gone it was a crazy game,” Ritika added.
Rohit also admitted that he was conscious and nervous and couldn't see the last over despite being in such situation so many times. ”I went inside didn’t want to see the last over man my nails are gone. I have been part of this game this kind of game a lot In these 15 years of IPL. I have seen this a lot,” Rohit added.

The Paltans needed mere five runs in the ultimate over to win the match. However, Anrich Nortje’s yorker-laden spell pushed the match to the wire and took the equation to two off the last ball. But, Tim David and Cameron last ball runs helped Mumbai to mark their first win of the tournament.
MI will next face Kolkata Knight Riders on April 16 in their own backyard Mumbai.
