Chennai Super Kings (CSK) rode on splendid knocks from Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devon Conway to bully Delhi Capitals in their last league match of the ongoing IPL 2023 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Saturday (May 19).

With this emphatic win, CSK also booked the playoffs berth as they are handsomely placed second in the points table with 17 points in 14 matches.

MS Dhoni's decision to bat first after winning the toss payed dividends to CSK as Ruturaj (79 off 50) and Conway (87 off 52)  combined to give Yellow Army a solid start. The dazzling duo stitched together a robust partnership of 141.

It was Ruturaj who decided to change gear with an intent to take CSK past 200 as he cracked seven big sixes and three boundaries in his lightning knock. The young batter played some magnificent strokes all across the ground and made many stand and applaud him. He continued his golden touch and played another staggering knock. But what caught everyone's eyes was Ruturaj's ruthless display with the willow against Kuldeep Yadav. Ruturaj took Kuldeep to cleaners in the 12th over when he launched hat-trick of sixes off Kuldeep. Ruturaj banged the first six on the second ball over the long-off area and then followed it up with another big one over long-on on the third delivery. He didn't stop there as he smoked another one down the ground in the next ball to leave Kuldeep in all sorts of bother.

Later Chetan Sakariya ended Ruturaj's stay in the 15th over.
