Pitch Report
Speaking about the pitch ahead of the match, the pitch report says, This is the centre pitch and expected to be really good. There was some cloud cover in the morning but that has disappeared. Second time this pitch is being used after the RRvCSK game, There were runs in that and it will be high scoring again."

"The pitch looks hard, with some cracks and grass in the middle. It is however a day game and the ball might slow up a bit due to the heat. Both teams would like to bat first, they have won four games each while batting first," said WV Raman and Simon Katich.

What the captains said

“The conditions might favor that, looks like a dry wicket. It is very clear from here on for us, that is not a bad thing sometimes. We need to execute better. 3-4 guys are putting their hand up every game, we need a bit more probably to cash in on some good positions. Wins are important, net run rate is not something we can bother about now,”
