Faf Du Plessis-led Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) couldn't have asked for a better start in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 as they defeated Rohit Sharma's Mumbai Indians (MI) in their campaign opener couple of days back at the Chinnaswamy stadium.

Riding on Virat Kohli's blistering knock RCB registered an emphatic eight-wicket victory over five-time champions. Despite having strong and talented players over the last 15 seasons, RCB have been unable to win the coveted trophy. When skipper, Kohli was unable to secure a win for RCB. He gave up the captaincy ahead of IPL 2022, with Faf du Plessis being elected as the new captain of the team. But this time with star-studded side RCB will have their eyes set on breaking the 15-year-old jinx and finally taste the title glory in IPL 2023.

In an episode of RCB Insider, Kohli engaged in a candid conversation with Mr Nags, where they discussed franchise's social media performance.

"Our social media performance is miles ahead of everyone. Get a trophy there, then watch. You bring one social media trophy and see how RCB will win. No competition only. Two weeks into the tournament, we will win. Don't need to play the last few games; 4-5 enough," Kohli said.

RCB's batting juggernaut also said that people mock their team for coming everytime and not winning the trophy but they don't understand the pressure we go through. However Kohli admitted the huge expectations of fans from RCB, however, their massive fan following only shows how big of a team they are.

"This is big franchise pressure. Lot of people take it as all fun and games like 'This team doesn't win'. Come and play, when there are so many expectations. We're a big team. Otherwise why would we have so many so fans if we were some faaltu team," added Kohli.

Kohli also turned poet in the conversation when Mr Nags challenged him for an impromptu ‘poetry contest’.

Kohli was asked to write few lines with four words, Kohli pulled off an inspiring poetry which concisely summed up RCB's journey so far in the IPL. Kohli was thrown four words to weave a poem out of it, which were, Trip, Tide, Man and 49. What happened next took everyone by surprise as Kohli executed the task with perfection.

"Fullfill you desires, ignite the fire, Bat through the tough times, sometimes it's 263 & sometimes 49, Life can put you in a pickle, Laugh through like it's a tickle, whether you get a hundred or a duck, life goes on, don't get stuck," wrote Kohli.
