The star-studded Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) are gearing up for the sixteenth season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. The Faf Du Plessis-led RCB will opener their IPL 2023 campaign against five-time champions Mumbai Indians (MI) at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on April 2 (Sunday).
The RCB players were seen toiling hard in the nets session as they will leave no stone unturned to finally end the long-standing drought of IPL title.
All eyes will be on the batting juggernaut Virat Kohli who is in the prime form and is all set to roar with the bat in the IPL 2023, having found his mojo back by hammering centuries in all the three formats of the game. He will look to carry the same momentum heading into the glitzy league.
Kohli unleashed the beast in him during RCB's nets session and tonked sixes all around the park ahead of the opener against MI. His flamboyant, stylish and attractive stroke-play was on display as he belted the bowlers left, right and centre at RCB's home venue.
Kohli through his batting made his plans clear for the IPL 2023, which is back to its old home-and-away format. When Kohli was busy smashing the balls, RCB skipper Faf Du Plessis was in interaction with the official IPL website and was giving an account of what his plans are for this season.
But Kohli's cracking shots kept distracting his skipper who was seen saving himself from getting hit by the ball.
In the interaction Du Plessis said that RCB are upbeat about putting up a show in the IPL 2023.
“I think we as a team are extremely grateful and we are ready for the season. One thing I can promise you from a player’s perspective is we can take it all the way this time,” Du Plessis said.

Kohli didn't have a good season in the IPL 2022 but since his stunning comeback with the willow after a halt in August 2022, he has been absolutely sensational with the bat. Kohli's aggressive intent during the middle overs was visible in the Asia Cup and the T20 World Cup. Even though he hasn't played a T20I since the marquee event, he has shown that his six-hitting has improved and has intentionally wanted to play high-risk shots a little more.
