Team India and Mumbai Indians' premier pacer, Jasprit Bumrah was spotted in the public for the first time after the right-arm pacer underwent a back surgery in New Zealand. Jasprit Bumrah was seen having a lengthy conversation with England's pacer Jofra Archer on the sidelines of the Women's Premier League (WPL) final match between Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals. Archer will represent the most successful Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise in the upcoming 16th edition of the tournament while Jasprit Bumrah will miss the competition entirely as he continues to rehabilitate.

Mumbai Indians shared a video on its Instagram account in which Archer and Bumrah can be seen having a lengthy conversation.

The Mumbai-based franchise secured the services of Archer during the Mega Auction in 2022. The franchise forked out a whopping sum of Rs 8 crore for the English pacer. However, the right-arm speedster missed the entire season last year due to injury. The dream of seeing Jasprit Bumrah and Archer won't be realised in IPL 2023 as the former will not be a part of the competition.

Bumrah, who has an unconventional action when it comes to fast bowling, has suffered gruesome injuries during his career. With Bumrah being one of the best pacers in the world, Team India has felt his absence to a great degree while Mumbai Indians are bound to miss his services in IPL 2023.

Bumrah recently underwent a successful back surgery in New Zealand. The Mumbai Indians pacer, who has been out of cricket for quite a long time now, is expected to take around six months to recover and finally hit the nets.

Going by Jasprit Bumrah's recovery time, he won't be able to play the World Test Championship (WTC) 2021-2023 finals and the Asia Cup 2023, but he might be ready for the ODI World Cup, which India is set to host in October-November.

Jasprit Bumrah has struggled with a troubled back since last year, which has kept him out of action from important assignments like the 2022 Asia Cup in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the ICC T20 World Cup in Australia. He has not played any competitive cricket since September last year.
