In-form Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) troika of Faf du Plessis, Glenn Maxwell and Mohammed Siraj came up with a solid performance to lead their franchise to a terrific win over Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Sunday, April 23. Du Plessis and Maxwell combined for another 100-run partnership this season while Siraj continued his stellar performance with the ball. As a result, RCB registered a seven-run victory on home turf.

During the game, a fiery moment caught the attention of the onlookers as Siraj failed to keep his temper in check and lost his cool at fellow teammate Mohipal Lomoror. The incident occurred on the last ball of the 19th over when Dhruv Jurel struck Siraj's delivery to long on and scampered for a double. Lomror unleashed a powerful throw but it came at an awkward height for Siraj, who failed to catch Ravichandran Ashwin short of the crease at the non-striker's end. Soon after, Siraj screamed and abused Lomror, and the whole incident was caught on camera.

Siraj later apologised to Lomror for his outburst on the field. In a video posted on RCB's YouTube channel, Siraj said, "I am so angry man. Sorry. I have apologized to him twice already. I don’t carry the aggression off the field. It all calms down post the match."

Lomron replied, "It’s alright Siraj bhai. Such small things keep happening in such big matches."

Siraj has been in phenomenal form with the ball this season for RCB. The right-arm pacer currently holds the Purple Cap and tops the list of leading wicket-takers in the competition. Siraj has accounted for 13 wickets in seven matches at a terrific average of 15.38 with the ball.

Meanwhile, RCB jumped to fifth place in the points table after their win against RR. The Red Army now has four wins in seven matches played in the competition thus far.
