In a match that will go down as one of the greatest finals ever played in the history of cricket, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) clinched a nerve-jangling five-wicket win (DLS method) against Gujarat Titans on May 29 (Monday) at the Narendra Modi Stadium. The Men in Yellow tied Mumbai Indians' (MI) record of winning five Indian Premier League (IPL) titles after lifting the prestigious trophy on Monday. Just when it looked like Hardik Pandya's men will defend their crown, 'rockstar' Ravindra Jadeja rocked GT's hopes by delivering a sensational performance under immense pressure.

Needing 10 runs off two balls. Jadeja smashed the penultimate delivery for a six down the ground and followed it up with a four towards deep fine leg before setting off on a long celebratory run. 'Sir Jadeja', as he is popularly known, delivered a performance of a 'Knight' while playing in front of his home crowd - a Gujarat native dashed the hopes of their beloved franchise in the state's capital. What a story!

After the game, former Team India captain Virat Kohli took to Instagram and congratulated Jadeja for his breathtaking cameo with the bat and made a special mention to none other than MS Dhoni.

"What a champion @ravindra.jadeja. Well done CSK and a special mention to @mahi7781," Kohli wrote on his Instagram story with a picture of CSK players mobbing Jadeja.

Chasing 215 for the win, the second innings saw a long rain interruption. The match restarted at 12:10 with a revised target of 171 in 15 overs. The side started on a roar with CSK openers Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devon Conway making the most of the conditions. They set up an opening wicket partnership of 74 runs before Gaikwad was caught by Rashid Khan off Noor Ahmad's bowling, scoring 26 runs in 16 balls.

Conway was the main aggressor and managed 47 off 25 balls before Noor struck again as the New Zealander holed the ball straight to Mohit Sharma.

Then coming to the party were Shivam Dube (32* off 21) and Ajinkya Rahane (27 off 13). The duo had a very important partnership of 39 runs from 23 balls which took CSK closer to the target.

After Rahane's wicket, Ambati Rayudu (19 off 8) took over as MS Dhoni was caught out for a Golden Duck. Many thought it was game over for CSK but Sir Ravindra Jadeja (15 off 6) had other plans.
