Another day, another achievement awaits for the World Cup-winning captain, MS Dhoni. The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 final to be played tonight between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will mark another milestone for yellow army skipper MS Dhoni.

Dhoni will become the only captain in the history of cricket to lead a T20 team for the 300th time. No other captain comes close to the three-time IPL-winning captain. Darren Sammy comes second on the list with 209 T20 matches under his belt as a captain. Except for these two, no other captain has led in the format in more than 200 T20 matches.

Captaining, the CSK side, Dhoni has won 129 matches out of 212, lost 81 and one game each resulted in a tie and no result. The 40-year-old has a 61.37 per cent win record for CSK. On the other hand, Dhoni has led the Indian team in 72 T20Is out of which 41 have resulted in wins, 28 in losses, one got tied whereas two yielded no result. The 2007 T20 World Cup-winning captain has a win percentage of 59.28 in T20Is.

Biggest threat to CSK in final

The biggest threat in front of MSD’s side is the spin trio of KKR who have been able to rattle many batting lineups this season. We have already witnessed what the likes of Sunil Narine and Varun Chakravarthy did to Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Delhi Capitals (DC) in the eliminator and second qualifier of the IPL 2021 respectively.

CSK's opener Ruturaj Gaikwad, who is also in contention for the Orange cap with 603 runs, only 23 runs fewer than PBKS skipper KL Rahul. Gaikwad has had a good record against the spinners which will be the key in the final.
