Mumbai Indians name former KKR pacer as Jasprit Bumrah's replacement, Delhi Capitals announce their wicketkeeper too

Mumbai Indians (MI) have announced former Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) pacer Sandeep Warrier as replacement for injured Jasprit Bumrah for Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. Delhi Capitals (DC) have roped in Abhishek Porel as Rishabh Pant's replacement for the season. 
 

The 31-year-old pacer made his IPL debut in 2019. So far, he has played five matches and picked up just two wickets. His economy rate is decent at 7.88 runs per over. Warrier has been a part of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) as well.
 

Warrier has been roped in for Rs 50 lakh. He has played a total of 68 T20s and picked up 62 wickets at an average of 27.48. He has not leaked many runs and maintained an economy rate of 7.20 runs per over.
 

Porel has joined DC at his base price of Rs 20 lakh. The 20-year-old has played only three T20s so far and scored just 22 runs including an unbeaten 20.

 

Rohit Sharma-led MI will take on Faf du Plessis' RCB in their campaign opener at M.Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru on April 2 (Sunday). Meanwhile, MI are yet to name Australia pacer Jhye Richardson's replacement.

 

David Warner-led DC will go up against KL Rahul's Lucknow Super Giants at Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow on April 1 (Saturday).
