Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya will lead Gujarat Titans franchise in the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. Pandya was previously drafted by the Gujarat-based franchise for an amount of Rs 15 Crore.
The official Twitter account of the Indian Premier League posted a 30-second snippet from an interview with Hardik Pandya on March 18 (Friday) and the Titans skipper said that they are “not here to prove anyone anything.”
Pandya speaks
"I was just spending time with family, working hard as always. (I'm) making sure I prepare well,” said Hardik.
“I'm quite happy with the team. It is a new team and to be honest, we are not here to prove anyone anything. We are here to play good cricket. We are here to make sure that the environment is right for the players to flourish in their own capacity. There's no expectation as such. We are going to be a team that makes sure it keeps improving,” the Gujarat Titans skipper further added.
Previously, the Gujarat-based franchise had drafted Indian batter Shubman Gill and England spinner Rashid Khan ahead of the mega IPL auction.
