'It seems he bats on a computer': Former India captain lauds 'best T20 player' Suryakumar Yadav after MI batter's sparkling knock

Mumbai Indians (MI) blew Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) out of their city on the back of Suryakumar Yadav's career night at the Wankhede Stadium on May 9 (Tuesday). The five-time champions chased down a daunting target of 200 runs without even breaking a sweat. Rohit Sharma's men registered a six-wicket win with 21 balls to spare. Suryakumar exploded in front of his home crowd and clobbered RCB bowlers to all corners of the ground. He scored 83 runs off 35 balls with the help of seven fours and six sixes.

After Suryakumar played an exhilarating knock and pulverised RCB bowlers with nonchalance, former India captain Sourav Ganguly hailed the Mumbai batter as the best T20 player in the world.

"Surya Kumar yadav the best T20 player in the world .. it seems he bats on a computer .. @surya_14kumar @mipaltan," Ganguly said in a Tweet.

After being the season in a rather sedate fashion where he looked completely out of form, Suryakumar has regained his lost mojo and has led Mumbai Indians' batting line-up from the front. He has been instrumental in the rise of Mumbai from the bottom half of the points table to third place.

This season, the Mumbai-based franchise has been able to consistently gun down targets in excess of 200 runs. The major reason behind MI becoming a juggernaut in run cases has been the swashbuckling right-handed batter, who with his composure and spectacular shot-making ability, has put the team on his shoulders.

Suryakumar has so far scored 376 runs in 11 matches for MI this season at a stunning strike rate of 186.14 and an average of 34.18. The attractive batter has registered four 50+ scores, including his highest score in IPL which came against RCB on Tuesday.

"Your practice has to be the same what you intend to do in matches. I know where my runs are. We have open net sessions. I know my game. I don't do anything different," Suryakumar told in the post-match presentation ceremony after MI's win over RCB.
