Mumbai Indians (MI) have been the most successful side in the Indian Premier League (IPL) with five title-wins. But now with the mega IPL auction coming, MI skipper Rohit Sharma has expressed his views regarding the franchise’s future. In a recent video posted by MI, skipper Rohit has stated that it isn’t possible but he would like to continue with the same core group in the squad in coming years too. Rohit also said that until and unless any miracle happens, he does not expect to have the same bunch of players next season to add another trophy in their cabinet.

Rohit thinks of a miracle
“We won’t have the same squad unless some miracle happens. It will be hard not to have all of them as part of the same group next year. But, hopefully, we can get the same core group of players and create a magical couple of years,” Rohit said.
The credit has to go to the scouts. Who just go day in and day out and watch all the domestic games. And give us feedback as to what individuals are doing. These players are not made over one or two games or one or two seasons. It’s a lot of hard work over the years that they have put in to make sure that they get the environment they want, to go out there and do the best they can,” the 34-year-old added.

Mumbai the most successful side
Mumbai has been the most consistent side in IPL history. Including 2013, MI have won 5 IPL trophies in the 8 seasons. They have the prestigious trophy in 2013, 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2020. All the five titles have come under the leadership of Rohit. However, the team failed to qualify in the playoffs this season but will be hoping to regain their strength and win another trophy next year.
