Pakistan is getting ready for a tough 3-match Test series against Australia beginning on December 14. Historically, Pakistan has never won a Test series in Australia, making it a significant challenge.
After Pakistan's early exit from the 2023 World Cup, there has been significant upheaval in both the cricket team and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). The PCB and team management have changed, with younger individuals taking on key roles.
Cricket legend Wasim Akram has shared his best wishes for the young members of the PCB, urging them to stand by their decisions. In a video posted on Twitter, Akram expressed hope for the success of players like Wahab Riaz and Kamran Akmal in their new positions.

"Pakistan team has reached Australia and I wish them all the best for the Test series. Mohammad Hafeez has joined the Pakistan Cricket Board as team director and Wahab Riaz has taken over as chief selector, Kamran Akmal and all others," Akram said in the video.
Akram took a cheeky dig at Wahab Riaz, saying that he should not be holding a press conference every 3 minutes and should stick by the decisions that they were making.
"These are present cricketers. This is their time and let's give them at least one year to prove themselves. And one more advice, don't hold press conferences every three minutes. Stick to your decisions and be brave," Wasim said.
While wishing the Pakistan team well for the upcoming series in Australia, Akram also took a light-hearted jab at Wahab Riaz. He advised the new team to give themselves at least a year to prove their capabilities and cautioned against frequent press conferences, encouraging them to stay steadfast in their decisions.
This comes in the wake of Wahab Riaz addressing the media to clarify the situation surrounding Salman Butt's appointment and subsequent dismissal as the selection consultant. Riaz explained that Butt was only consulted for his cricketing insights, but due to public backlash and discussions about favouritism, Riaz decided to reverse the decision.
