Top 5 scores in women's ODIs for India, young opener Pratika Rawal becomes 3rd batter to achieve rare feat

On January 15, Smriti Mandhana-led India created history as they posted their highest total in ODIs, 435/5. This is the fourth-highest total in the history of women's ODIs and highest on Indian soil. Here is a list of top five scores by an Indian batter in women's ODIs - 
 

5. Former batter Jaya Sharma scored an unbeaten 138 off 150 balls against Pakistan in Karachi on December 30, 2005. In the Women's Asia Cup clash, India beat their arch-rivals Pakistab by a comfortable margin of 193 runs as they bowled them out for 96 in the run chase of 290.
 

4. In 2022, captain Harmanpreet Kaur scored an unbeaten 143 from 111 balls against England. Harmanpreet's knock was laced with 18 fours and four sixes. After posting 333/5, India beat England by 88 runs in Canterbury.
 

3. The 24-year-old opener Pratika Rawal is the latest entrant on the list. She scored 154 runs from 129 balls including 20 fours and a six against Ireland in Rajkot. She is the third Indian batter to score 150 or more in women's ODIs.
 

2. In 2017 World Cup, Harmanpreet Kaur scored an unbeaten 171 from 115 balls against Australia in a rain-curtailed encounter. Harmanpreet hit seven towering sixes and 20 fours in her blazing knock. India posted 281/4 and beat Australia by 36 runs to reach the final.
 

1. The top spot belongs to Deepti Sharma who scored 188 runs from 160 balls against Ireland in 2017. Deepti hit as many as 27 fours in her knock coupled with two sixes. She missed her double century as she was dismissed in the 46th over. She also shared a record-breaking 320-run opening partnership with Punam Raut who scored 109 runs.
 

Pratika Rawal and Smriti Mandhana shared a 233-run partnership for the opening wicket. This is the highest partnership for India at home. Also, this is the third-highest partnership for India for any wicket. Mandhana scored 135 runs from 80 balls. She scored the fastest ODI century for India from 70 balls.
