It all happened during SA20's match between Johannesburg Super Kings, Mumbai Indians Cape Town.

Johannesburg Super Kings' Faf Du Plessis stunned everyone by grabbing a jaw-dropping catch during SA20 match against Mumbai Indians Cape Town at Wanderers Stadium on Saturday, January 13.

MI Cape Town, batting first, delivered a stellar batting display. Openers Rassie van der Dussen (104) and Ryan Rickleton (98) dominated the bowlers, contributing 200 runs in their opening partnership. But as soon as their partnership ended, Dewald Brevis came to bat with an intent to belt Super Kings' bowlers all-around the park. However, his innings was abruptly terminated by Du Plessis' exceptional catch. The former South African captain executed a spectacular catch. Brevis attempted a slog off Lizaad Williams' delivery, resulting in a mis-hit that sent the ball soaring over mid-off, seemingly destined to land in an unoccupied area of the field. However, du Plessis, with remarkable agility, sprinted back and lunged fully to snatch the ball with one hand, leaving spectators in awe. This incredible catch was a testament to du Plessis' exceptional fielding skills, with many agreeing that he was the only one capable of making such an incredible catch.

Dewald Brevis could only contribute 5 runs, but Mumbai Indians Cape Town still had an impressive batting performance. The openers were particularly dominant, with Ryan Rickleton narrowly missing a century by just two runs. Towards the end of their innings, Liam Livingstone (12) and Kieron Pollard (9*) struck some powerful shots, leading Mumbai Indians Cape Town to a formidable total of 243 runs. From Johannesburg Super Kings, Nandre Burger claimed two wickets, while Lizaad Williams, Romario Shepherd, and Imran Tahir each took one.

Johannesburg Super Kings had a shaky start in their chase, losing Reeza Hendricks early in a run-out mix-up with Faf du Plessis. Hendricks was caught short of his crease after a fielding effort by Liam Livingstone, who had stopped a boundary and thrown the ball back to the bowler's end. Du Plessis had aimed for a third run, but Hendricks couldn't make it back in time, leading to his dismissal without scoring. Following Hendricks' wicket, Ronan Hermann was also dismissed. Du Plessis also couldn't do much and returned to pavilion after scoring just five runs. Leus Du Plooy did put on a fight with a fiery 48 24 but wickets continued to tumble on the other end and MI Cape Town clinched the issue by 98 runs.
