After winning the first Test match comfortably against Sri Lanka, the Rohit Sharma-led Indian team will take on the visitors in the second Test match in Bengaluru on March 12 (Saturday). It is important to mention that the Bengaluru Test match is going to be a pink-ball clash. The Day-Night affair will surely be a different experience for the spectators but for players also, things will not be the same.

Bumrah speaks

While talking about the upcoming pink-ball Test match, India vice-captain Jasprit Bumrah admitted that they “need to adjust as quickly as possible.”

“As professional cricketers, we need to adjust as quickly as possible. The pink ball looks different while fielding. It comes earlier than what you perceive," Bumrah said on March 11 (Friday) during a pre-match virtual media interaction.

"In the afternoon session, the ball may not swing much but in the evening, it can swing more, all these small points (are being discussed)," he further added.

Inexperience in pink-ball Tests

Indian team’s inexperience in pink-ball can be a worrying sign but the 28-year-old Indian pacer the team can “work on things” that are under their control.

"We have not played many pink ball matches and whatever we have played, they were all in different conditions, so no parameter can be set (on adjustments required).

"So whatever little experience you have gathered and the feedback you have taken, you work on things that are under our control," the fast bowler explained.

Sri Lanka team on the other hand, will have to deal with an injury issue as their batter Pathum Nissanka is reportedly going to miss the second Test match due to an injury. In a situation like this, the Sri Lanka team management might include Kusal Mendis or Dinesh Chandimal in Nissanka’s absence.

It is also important to mention that the pink-ball Test between India and Sri Lanka, slated to start from March 12 will witness 100 per cent crowd attendance.

In the first Test match of the series, Indian team had secured a comfortable victory against Sri Lanka as the hosts registered a victory by an innings and 222 runs. Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja was adjudged as the Man of the Match for his terrific all-round show.
