Cricket West Indies (CWI) announced on January 18 that four of its distinguished players - Anisa Mohammed, Shakera Selman, Kycia Knight, and Kyshona Knight - have decided to retire from international cricket. These players have been pivotal figures in the West Indies cricket team, contributing significantly to its successes, including the memorable victory in the 2016 ICC Women's T20 World Cup in India.

Anisa Mohammed's illustrious career as a right-arm off-spinner spanned over two decades. Beginning her journey with the West Indies team at just 15 years old in 2003, Mohammed became a key player. Her remarkable career saw her participate in 141 ODIs and 117 T20Is, where she claimed an impressive total of 305 wickets. Notably, in 2016, she achieved a groundbreaking milestone, becoming the first player, regardless of gender, to take 100 wickets in T20I cricket.

Shakera Selman, known for her prowess as a right-arm pacer, made her international debut in 2008. Throughout her career, she showcased consistent performance, taking 133 wickets across 196 games in both ODIs and T20Is.

The Knight twins, Kycia and Kyshona, made significant contributions to the West Indies team since their debuts in 2011 and 2013, respectively. Kycia Knight, a skilled wicketkeeper, set multiple records in Women's T20I cricket, including the most dismissals and stumpings in a single innings. She also tied the record for most catches in an innings. Kycia's career stats include playing 157 matches and scoring a total of 2128 runs.

Kyshona Knight, a talented left-handed batter, scored 1397 runs in her 106-match career with the West Indies. Her batting skills have been a crucial asset to the team in various international fixtures.

The retirement of these four players marks the end of an era for West Indies women's cricket. Their contributions have not only been instrumental in the team's achievements but have also paved the way for the next generation of cricketers. Their legacy in the sport will undoubtedly inspire future cricketers in the Caribbean and beyond.
